Hurdy Gurdy with wood carving “Horse”

3,900 $

The hurdy-gurdy is also called a wheel fiddle because it uses a wheel instead of a bow to produce sound. Early hurdy-gurdies had a box-shaped body, but later models had a more pear-like shape.

Hurdy Gurdy with wood carving “Horse”

Hurdy gurdy making is a slow and highly technical process but we sell it from our stock and we ready to ship it in 3–5 business days.

Our instruments have fundamental differences from all modern hurdy gurdies.
First of all, it is a fundamentally different scheme of the resonator housing which makes the sound deep and voluminous.
Secondly, this is a real manual work without using power tools at the final processing.

Materials:  maple, spruce, pine, ash, birch, linden.
Lira covered with natural varnish.
